2000 Premier Champions

It was an amazing two weekends of intense soccer.  The conditions were near perfect and the competition was fierce.  Each and every team should be congratulated for their hard work and dedication to the game of soccer.  The talent and performance from each of the teams proved once again the tournaments outstanding reputation for competitive soccer.

A total of 9 out of the 14 final matches ended with a tie or a one goal differential.  This is a new record at the Pocono Cup.  The FC Westchester and the FC Dynamo penalty kick final showcased some amazing goal tending and heart stopping drama.  CPYSL played beautifully and beat the heavy favorite Ukrainian Nationals with a 2-1 victory.  However, the biggest upset in the tournament was in the Under 10 final.  Syracuse, with a 4-0 tournament record and only 4 goals against, was shockingly defeated by a determined team from Back Mountain Pennsylvania.

Congratulations to all the Champions and Runner-Ups.  Thank you for an unbelievable tournament and playing like true Champions
