Directions on how to apply for acceptance to a tournament.

The Tournaments:

There are 2 levels of competition, a "Premier" level tournament and a "Club" level tournament.

Premier Level : The Pocono Cup "Girls" Premier/Olympic & The Pocono Cup "Boys" Premier/Olympic Tournament  are designed specifically for teams competing at the highest level.  This event has a 25 year history and has played host to some of the best teams in the nation.  State select teams, super premier club teams and talented tournament teams have showcased many players that have gone on to play professionally overseas and here in the MLS.  If you are looking for the best in competition, this is the event of choice.

Club Level: The Memorial Day Pocono "Club" Division Tournament is designed specifically for club travel teams looking for the best in tournament formatting and competitive play.  The purpose of the event to provide club teams with the opportunity grow as a group and gain valuable tournament experience.  In that spirit, acceptance is restricted to those teams playing at a "club" level within their individual leagues.  A proof of playing ability will be required with each team application. Tournament play will be separated into 2 flights (Flt 1, Flt 2) based on their current league rankings.

 The Location:

Stroudsburg Pennsylvania,  in the "Heart of the Poconos".  Our two outstanding soccer parks are easily assessable off Interstate 80 and just over the PA boarder within an easy driving distance from anywhere in the Tri-State area.  The main complex, Monroe County Parks / Burnley Soccer Fields, has 10 centrally located fields including 2 brand new championship fields in great condition.  We are also very  proud to announce the addition of Smithfield Township's Minisink Soccer Park.  This brand new facility has a spectacular view of the Delaware Water Gap and will host 4 championship playing fields with plenty of additional space for warm-ups and practice.

The Games:

Every tournament is a Saturday-Sunday event.  Each team plays 4 preliminary games with a maximum of 2 playoff rounds.  Each match is played in 25 minute halves with the majority of the games held on Saturday.  Sunday is reserved for the last of the preliminary rounds and all playoffs matches.  All full sided games are refereed by a 3 man system.  Only the best referees are selected to return each year to manage the games.   Bracketing is determined by the number of teams accepted in each age group with a limit of 16 and then set to blind draw.  Teams are separated by state, league and division to avoid repetitive matches.  Points are awarded for wins and ties.  The total number of teams in your bracket determines the number of points your team needs to qualify.  Under 9 & Under 10 play 8v8 rosters. Under 11 and above play 11v11 rosters.
